WALA Announces NEW Valuable Benefit for RCAC & CBRF Provider Members
WALA is pleased to announce a new partnership with the American Senior Housing Association (ASHA) to provide our RCAC and CBRF provider members with exclusive access to WhereYouLiveMatters.org (WYLM).
This important initiative between our associations is designed to position WYLM as a trusted and leading consumer resource. It will help Wisconsin families make informed decisions while reducing reliance on paid referral agencies.

What is WYLM?
Launched by ASHA in 2016 and updated in 2024, WhereYouLiveMatters.org (WYLM) is an online platform created to bring greater transparency to the $400 million third-party referral agency industry and provide consumers with unbiased information.
WYLM offers guidance and educational resources for individuals and families seeking assisted living options in their area. The platform connects consumers directly with assisted living providers and allows them to explore communities without the involvement of paid referral agencies. Best of all, WALA provider members and consumers can connect through the platform at no cost.
Why is WYLM important to the assisted living industry in Wisconsin?
WYLM was created to generate direct consumer engagement with assisted living communities, including phone calls, form submissions, and website traffic, without relying on paid referral agencies.
The platform helps communities strengthen their online presence while supporting and expanding their digital lead generation efforts.
In fact, a 2025 pilot program in Ohio involving 114 communities generated 127 direct conversions in only 90 days with no cost to providers or consumers.

How to Participate
WALA and ASHA are investing $300,000 in marketing efforts to promote this platform through both traditional and digital media channels. While this benefit is available to all members across the state, the initial marketing efforts will focus on Wisconsin’s most populous regions, including the greater Milwaukee, Madison, and Fox Valley areas.
To support a successful launch, we need at least 70 percent of member communities in these regions to be verified by March 31.
