Purpose: Your professional experience and leadership help to make Autumn Winds, LLC ‘home’ for our residents. Working with an assistant administrator and leading a team of direct care staff, you help provide a safe, comfortable and inviting environment. You anticipate employee and resident needs, promptly respond to their request and keep the environment in excellent condition. You ensure that your interactions with the direct care team and residents are pleasant and productive, and that interruptions to their lives are brief and rare. You exceed expectations and justify Autumn Winds, LLC’s reputation as an exceptional living community.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Create and maintain an environment that achieves high quality care (physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual) of residents and maintain their independence and dignity to the highest degree possible. Ensure that services provided promote quality of life. Establish and maintain effective communication systems with all customers and respond promptly to resident and family issues.
- Coordinate and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings. Oversee and monitor the facility components of the medical record for completeness and accuracy.
- Create and maintain a work environment for employees that is conducive to high productivity and morale. Establish and maintain effective communication systems with employees. Provide ongoing employee educational and development opportunities which meet regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with direct care staff to ensure staffing needs are met.
- Train, lead and mentor direct care staff and assistant administrator.
- Provide direct care when necessary.
- Use discretion and independent judgment to compare and evaluate possible courses of action and decision-making.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and strategies.
- Ensure that the facility is in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Direct and coordinate activities of all medical, nursing, and administrative services.
- Operates facility within established budgetary guidelines.
- Work closely with the business owner to ensure organizational culture and values, financial well- being and overall business operations are met.
- Coordinates with team members to ensure that resident service plans accurately address resident needs and are updated as resident needs change.
- Effectively monitor resident health concerns such as weight and nutrition, skin integrity, mobility, fall management, and challenging behaviors alongside RN's involved with any residents care management.
- Reviews Resident Health Records on a routine basis and ensures that documentation meets facility standards and adequately addresses the residents' healthcare issues, including identified concerns, interventions and outcomes.
- Ensures that all resident care is provided in a safe and effective manner, while consistently maintaining resident dignity, choice, and respect.
- Maintain positive working relationships with local ombudsmen, health inspectors, fire departments, or any other organization, make frequent evaluations of the facility to ensure property is clean, well maintained and in compliance, and promote the company's reputation.
What You Will Need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
DHS 83 Administrators Course
- Preferably a degree in Health Care Administration
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years preferably being in leadership/management OR preferably Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
Additional Preferences:
- Long term care / skilled nursing home experience / CBRF
- Strong organizational skills and ability to re-prioritize daily tasks, to accommodate fluctuating needs of the residents and the facility.
- Experience in training and staff development.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, fax, and email.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
- Willing to have a presence on weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist and/or perform turn-key work as required to ensure vacant rooms are ready for a new resident in a timely manner.
- Maintain customer service standards. Respond to resident requests and work with residents to minimize/resolve problems and complaints. Follow-through to ensure issues are resolved.
- Apply all applicable Autumn Winds, LLC Policies and Procedures such as, but not limited to, company operating and safety standards. Promote safe work practices among on-site staff. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws, specifically Fair Housing regulations, building codes and environmental laws and regulations.
- Assist with organizing and prioritizing service requests and general maintenance tasks.
- May perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Able to operate standard office equipment such as, but not limited to, personal computer, telephone, scanner, eFax and postage machine(if required).
- Position requires driving responsibilities (may use Company provided vehicle, if available and/or personal vehicle).
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
- Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with Autumn Winds motor vehicle policy
