Salary: 70,000-75,000/yearly with sign on BONUS

45+ hours/week, nights & weekends as needed / per on-call rotation.

The Koselig House Assisted Living and Memory Care is searching for a qualified Executive Director who will help to bring intentional humanity and joy to our residents, families, and culture.  Our community is family owned and directly supports our director and staff.  We are interested in a dynamic leader who is constantly curious about ways to create exceptional experiences and care for our residents and is dedicated to seeing them through. Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operations of our community to provide our community with consistency, stability and optimum care for our residents
  • Maintain standards and policies and procedures that comply with DHS 83 state regulations and licensing while training and monitoring staff for compliance.
  • Purchase and maintain inventory of necessary dietary, housekeeping, maintenance and nursing supplies
  • Schedule continued education and meetings for staff to reinforce and learn new concepts that promote best practices for quality of care
  • Check in new medications ensuring proper counts and perform medication cart and pharmacy reviews
  • Inspect and ensure the maintenance of the interior and exterior of the building for optimum appearance, condition, and function
  • Design, implement, and actively participate in a marketing strategy to nurture relationships that will help grow and maintain census, including third party referrals and community connections
  • Monitor medications and distribution ( 6 R’s) as well as checking in new medications, ensuring proper counts, and perform medication cart and pharmacy reviews
  • Provide emergency disaster plan training and implementation by conducting and documenting drills as appropriate
  • Complete and review individual care plans/ISP’s for each resident to ensure the emotional, physical health and well being of each resident and communicate necessarily to families, POA’s and MCO’s
  • Work with third party vendors on hospital visits/lab orders/Emergency visits and complete a follow up of results to the pharmacy, physician, family (POA) and MCO if warranted
  • Complete assessments and guide families/POA through the admissions process with clear and compassionate communication
  • Guarantee an active daily calendar that entertains our residents social, physical and emotional health
  • Join forces with Human Resources to onboard, train, and if needed, exit employees with proper documentation and communication
  • Work diligently with our RN to ensure resident’s medical needs are met and documented as well as arrange medication delegation training for staff
  • Create work schedules, approve time and attendance for payroll, check accuracy of time sheets, wage assignments, handle paycheck disputes and ensure compliance of overtime limitations
  • Adhering to the budget by reviewing and monitoring expenses

 Preferred skills

  • Communication: must be able to communicate clearly and concisely : reading, writing and speaking in English
  • Leadership: must be able to inspire and lead those on the Koselig team to perform to their best ability and create a culture that inspires intentional humanity, joy, diligence and execution of daily duties
  • Connection: ability to market and network with families, the surrounding community and 3rd party referrals

Education/Experience

  • Administrator license certification
  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Prior experience as a director, assistant director or administrator,
  • Experience in team leadership
  • 5 years related work in assisted living or long term care
  • Clear understanding of current DHS 83 regulations and State regulations
  • Training of memory care/dementia/Alzheimer’s and demonstrated knowledge of issues that affect our elderly population
  • Must have certifications (or be willing to obtain) in Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid & Choking & Medication Administration
