Join WALA, the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association - the premier association for providers and industry associates. Collectively, WALA members provide quality housing, care and services to thousands of residents and their families. WALA's mission includes advocating the unique qualities of housing and services provided by our members. WALA also endeavors to reduce the numerous challenges that concern WALA members.

WALA is leading the effort to exchange information with policy markers on the advantages of all styles of assisted living as well as understanding the challenges all providers face. For example, in a collaborative effort with WHEDA, WALA enjoyed the opportunity to provide a bus tour of assisted living communities across the state with Secretary Joe Leean, the Department of Health and Family Services, the Bureau of Quality Assurance, and WHEDA. WALA will continue to promote a serious and open dialogue with these key groups throughout the coming months and years to change the regulatory climate to better meet your needs and those of your residents.

Nationally, Wisconsin companies are known as leaders in the industry; many of the early assisted living providers opened their first communities in Wisconsin. The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) has announced the Wisconsin is again the leader as WALA represents the largest membership base of any state assisted living organization (per capita). Not surprisingly, WALA also represents one of the most varied membership groups, which includes a solid base of small group homes, medium sized campuses, as well as the largest assisted living provider in the country.
