From the WALA Mission Statement The Wisconsin Assisted Living Association is the premier association for providers and industry associates in Wisconsin. With over 550 members representing over 10,000 assisted living residents, WALA has a solid membership base of AFHs, CBRFs and RCACs – from the small three-bed facility to the largest assisted living provider in the state – as well as scores of Associate, Government and Supporting Partner members. Over the past ten years WALA has become the respected force in promoting a serious and open dialogue on your behalf with BQA. Currently, WALA is taking the lead in the rewrite of HFS-83. We will continue our work throughout the coming months and years to enhance the relationship between BQA and assisted living providers. You can count on WALA to persist in taking the concerns of the industry to the highest levels of state and local governments. Additionally, as the Wisconsin affiliate of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), we represent a national movement working hard to further the cause of assisted living as an important option in long-term care. There are many new and notable benefits for provider members this year, especially regarding your listing on the WALA website. See our member benefits page for more information. Nationally, Wisconsin assisted living facilities are known as leaders in the industry - many of the early assisted living providers opened their first communities in our state. ALFA continues to look to Wisconsin for national leadership in developing training materials, educational programs and communications strategies to help you provide the best care possible while thriving financially.
