In January 2000 as well as January 2001, WALA was pleased to present the Administrators and Management Intensive to a sold out group of attendees. In 2002, we have strengthened the agenda and added additional information. Don't miss this opportunity to take part in this popular program.

This is not your typical presentation! This course is unlike any you have ever taken. The fun, interactive debate style format will open your mind to new techniques. WALA's two-day seminar is designed to provide a useful overview of the many-faceted responsibilities of the Assisted Living Administrator. Training modules include: Accounting and Financial Management, Staffing and Professional Development, Management, Marketing, and more.

The Administrators and Management Intensive will provide skills needed to operate a successful assisted living community. This Program will help you learn, from industry experts, the tools to lead your team effectively, from the assisted living basics to specific departmental needs.

In the world of Assisted Living, well-trained employees are vital to the success and well-being of an assisted living community! Designed for the entry-level Administrator as well as the experienced veteran this course will provide the tools necessary to manage the diverse needs encountered daily. Developed from the ALFA University Training System, this overview provides leadership skills which will be utilized while working with employees, residents, and within the community.

The team of Mari Jo Grace, CPM(r) and Susan Persch will enlighten, delight and challenge you. Their high-energy approach to learning will make sure you stay focused and have practical take-home tactics.

The team of nationally recognized presenters includes:

  • Mari Jo Grace, CPM(r)of Grace Management in Minneapolis, MN

    Ms. Grace is a Certified Property Manager and a Georgia and Minnesota Real Estate Broker. She currently develops, markets and operates full-service retirement communities, multifamily properties, and commercial properties in eleven states. Ms. Grace also applies her 18 years of experience in senior housing towards consulting and assisting developers of new communities and performing third party reviews of existing communities.

  • Susan Persch of Alterra in Milwaukee, WI

    During 25 years in healthcare, Susan has focused on the escalating needs of the escalating numbers of America's seniors. With Alterra she has participated in the growth of options for care, legislative changes and purpose-built design. As Assistant Divisional Vice President for Alterra, she works with a great team of 80 residences ranging in size from 15 to 80 in WI, MN and MI. Alterra serves seniors in 450 residences across the country. Educated as a Physical Therapist, with both practice and management experience, Susan then added an MBA. She teaches at Marquette University and is an active member of her parish. She knows our ideas today need a continuous blend of both head and heart to continue to Change the Way America Ages.

Location: Hilton Garden Inn - Appleton/Kimberly
The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 720 Eisenhower Drive in Kimberly, WI. Directions will be sent with the confirmation letters in early January. There is free parking at the hotel.
