2. Protect Medicaid - Public Town Hall Meeting in Madison
Attention All Persons with interest in Protecting Medicaid! Please join the WI Long Term Care Workforce Alliance and WALA at the Public Town Hall Meeting in Madison on August 25, 2010 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall - Mendota Room.
Why you MUST attend:
- To become aware of how potential cuts in Medicaid could affect you and your neighbors'.
- To learn how potential cuts in Medicaid could affect access and choice of services.
- To learn how cuts in Federal Medicaid Dollars could affect jobs in Wisconsin, Dane County and surrounding counties.
We are asking that you and your residents join us at this Town Hall Meeting! We are planning to have elected officials/ candidates at this forum, so bring your questions, concerns and listening ears!
Do you have a story to tell? This event needs:
- Story Tellers – share your story about how services have helped you or lack of services have caused you or your family struggle.
- Educators – share your knowledge about Medicaid programs and what they do for Wisconsin citizens.
- Member of the Political Community – share your knowledge about how citizens can make a difference in this area.
- Attend this event, and bring someone with you to learn about this situation
- Contact your political representatives and encourage them to vote for the FMAP extension.

3. BAL 83.20 Survey - CBRFs Please Participate!

The new requirements for community-based residential facility (CBRF) department-approved training for fire safety, medication administration, standard precautions and first aid have been in effect for 4 months. As part of the department’s quality assurance program, BAL would like to know how the transition has been going. If this topic relates to you, please take a few moments to respond to this survey. BAL will share information from the survey at the September Assisted Living Forum and will post summary information to the department’s website. The survey will remain open until August 6th. 5. Progress is made in Alzheimer's Research!
The Alzheimer's Association International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease (ICAD) which took place in early July in Hawaii, was where ground breaking research and technology was reported and shared among thousands of researchers from all over the world. 6. WALA's Compensation Survey for 2010 is coming soon!
Soon you will receive information about how you can participate in the 2nd Annual WALA Compensation Survey. Last year was a success and we got lots of helpful information to share with other providers about how they compensated their staff around Wisconsin in 2009. Compare yourself with others in the Assisted Living Industry in Wisconsin.
Providers who participate in the survey will receive the results for free!
Wipfli CPAs and Consultants will gather information from the survey for a detailed report. All information will remain confidential.
